Just about a month ago. I had written Part-I of this article. I had ended that with saying – “Hopefully, sanity will prevail and the meaning of victory will change to collective rather than selective.”

As things stand though – the game is over!

I call it a game because in my mind this has been just that -strategies, maneuvers, gambits, tactics – anything and everything to win – to win individually – just for one side – that happens only in a game.

So Game Over! There must be a winner, right? Probably is – may be Gujrat, Karnataka or Andhra – but they weren’t even playing.

Isn’t it strange that three entities – only three – couldn’t sit across the table – just the three of them and sort it out? We are not talking some ordinary entities here. There is Mr. Ratan Tata – a global face of India’s industrialization, representing a sizeable portion of India’s GDP, chairman of India’s largest private sector corporation. Then there is CPIM – apparently represents about 20% of the parliament, this effectively means that they represent much over 20 crore Indians. Then there is Mamata Banerjee – I don’t know what or who she represents, however, in much a self proclaimed fashion, she happens to represent the disputed land – at the very least she represents 400 acres of land and people who own this. How difficult could it have been for these three people to find a boardroom and talk? How difficult could it be for the left and Tata to find a mechanism to talk to the people directly and offer a bigger solution?

Mr. Ratan Tata says Mamata held a gun to his head and pulled the trigger. Yes, she did and she did it because she could, because she was allowed to do it. Lets examine a different situation – if there was an employee exactly like Mamata working at Tata’s; responsible or the voice for some 2% of people – making a hue and cry – What would Mr. Tata do? Relocate that office or deal with her or fire her?

Interestingly enough, the concept of democracy and parliament is meant for collective and collaborative decision making by people representing the whole of India. Sadly enough some 540 parliamentarians have deduced the meaning of opposition as ‘spoilers’ – But he Left can’t see it, they can’t even say it, they are experts at it – so they are only getting some of there own back. This, however, was bound to happen. For years people have seen leaders of this country operate in this manner. It’s only natural for the next generation to assume this as a way of functioning in politics and emulate certain behaviours and cultures.

Mamata is not the problem She is just doing what others do. She is just doing what Left themselves do – stalk the parliament over economic policies (all or nothing!), over nuclear deal (all or nothing), over Sonia Gandhi becoming PM (all or nothing), over petrol subsidies (all or nothing), over pro – U.S. policies (all or nothing). She is doing what Congress does – go ahead with the nuclear deal (with you or without you), go ahead with petrol prices (with you or without you), abolish POTA (with you or without you), even appoint a president (with you or without you). She is doing what the BJP does – walk out of the parliament at every single opportunity (mine otherwise no one’s), oppose a deal that they initiated (mine otherwise no one’s), railways success is a manipulation of records (mine otherwise no one’s), we’ll renegotiate the nuclear deal (mine otherwise no one’s) and a temple in the same place as the mosque (mine otherwise no one’s) – isn’t that exactly what Mamata is also saying.

You see Mamata is not the problem here. The problem really is that no one else has any moral, ethical or independent, uncorrupted right to tell her that this isn’t the way. So no one could. Mamata is simply an emulation of these leaders.

Sadly though, Ratan Tata has chosen to deal with this in the same manner. 1500-2000 crores is big deal. Lets go elsewhere. Strangely enough, from here on and now, Nano will find a Mamata everywhere. I can almost guarantee it. They will find it in Andhra, in Karnataka and even in Gujarat, though the Mamata in Gujarat might be very mute. The reason they will find a Mamata everywhere is because by being a Mamata insofar as Nano is concerned, you become a popular spoiler, you (may) get a few votes, perhaps, just enough to win you a small seat, you then (may) get to do the same in the parliament of India – play a bigger spoiler – get more eyeballs or if not that, then get some handsome cash for not spoiling – Wow! What a career!
The issue isn’t that no one won. Mamata lost. Left lost. Tata lost, though still an anti-hero. We all lost in some way. I am pretty certain that in board rooms all over the world, the border-line decisions pending for ‘manufacturing’ investments in India would have been decided in favor of another nation, perhaps China.

The issue is that everybody is fine with losing. In their minds they will all proclaim victory. Mamata in her election speech will announce flamboyantly that she stood up to Tata’s and the government for rights of her people and even at the cost of the entire nation ridiculing her, she didn’t give up. Fools like us will even buy the argument and vote her in. Tata will soon announce a deal with one of the states and how it is in hindsight a blessing in disguise. Left will further strengthen a need to out vote everybody else, if Bengal is to proper -they will probably get the ‘intended pro-industrialization vote’ that they traditionally do not. Our real issue is that we are far too reluctant to confront our short comings. We mask it with stupid illusions.
This sadly is true for all of us. It is not simply limited to the politicians and people alike. We are all a part of it. We all see victory in compromises and failures too. I can cite plenty of examples – ‘We might not get an expected raise – look out – get another job -appropriate raise as well – ‘the reason you never got a raise never got confronted’ – make no mistake you WILL face the same situation again in some time but for now you can celebrate. – I met a couple recently and I narrate this story because somewhere most of us will have a similar one – They both work – long hours and strenuous jobs -They both reach home later than most – have a great agreement – only talk work and work related problem for one hour – you go half and I go half. That’s it, Bed time. Who on Earth is gaining from this Bullshit agreement? Can there not be a way to listen to another person, simply out of compassion? Will it not make the other person happy? Why is it so difficult to give?

Everything over a period of time sets into this ‘survival’ mindset and appropriate solutions. Relationships in families where we decide to be a certain way so all can be ‘superficially’ happy. Careers set into a pattern where we accept us not reaching our ultimate goals by convincing us of ‘small successes’ in the current one or some past glory that we can celebrate. Look around you’ll find compromise all around you. Look around a little more, you’ll actually find you have convinced yourself to be a winner when you actually lost – You’ll give up losing weight and substitute it with finding a great job or a breakthrough at work – Celebrate. You’ll give up on reading and substitute with a great presentation at work that gets applauded -Celebrate. You’ll give up on reaching home on time and substitute it with a gift for your child or your wife – Celebrate. You’ll give up on becoming a CEO and substitute it with the next promotion; “at least I cam close” – Celebrate. You’ll give up on giving up smoking and substitute it with successfully accomplishing stressful jobs – lets celebrate. The list is endless.

Forget giving up, even 50-50 is a losing option. In fact it’s worse because it prevents us from confronting failure. That is what will happen eventually with Tata’s, Mamata and the Left. The trigger is pulled so what’s there to confront for Tata. “I didn’t ask them to go, that was never my intention. It’s not my fault.” Now what’s there to con front for Mamata. “She is the most irresponsible opposition party. She is responsible for all this.” Look who’s talking and what is there to confront for the Left.

Leaving all this as it is, which is reality, no one in their own assessment is at fault. No one will make a damn change. No one will question anything. So nothing will change. Another Nano will face another Mamata soon, very soon. The same for all of us – in our lives we’ll give up on one Nano and blame it on some third thing and substitute it with some other Nano – and even convince ourselves to believe that we won! After a while will come a clichรฉ “Nothing changes in this country (or company or house or relationship)”. My friend the hard truth is it never will because we don’t have the guts to actually confront – first our own selves, then the rest.

SAS 8615 N95 Particulate Respirator (Box of 20)

Posted by vankd123 on May 21, 2009

Call it ‘Destiny’ or call it ‘Fate’. Call it what you want! Most of us might even contradict the whole affair. Whatever may be the case, here I am once again, for you, to share what I have realized about ‘Destiny’. I will neither say that I am right or wrong. I leave that for you to decide. With some brief examples and case-study I’ll try my best and make you aware of the message I am trying to convey about this beautiful facet of life, which might once again help you realize another aspect about the “Essence of Life”, which is my sole objective.

While studying here in Bangalore, many times I have heard my friends saying, our life is all set and planned, even before we have entered this world. Sometimes, when my friends fail in their semester examinations, they say it is the will of God, it was all planned. Well I could have understood the fact, that had my friend studied and gave his best efforts and still failed, perchance even if destinies were ever written, then perchance he was destined to fail. But what if this same friend of mine does not study the whole semester, ignoring his onus towards his academics and fails, can he still say that it was written in his destiny to fail? Well, now some of my friends, reading this article might point out that perhaps it was written in his destiny to be irresponsible towards his studies. Well that indeed is a valid point. But patience my friend. I’ll explain it all to you; before you draw the final conclusion ๐Ÿ™‚

Like initially, I mentioned that I have realized that that there are two kinds of destinies. Now, I’ll try and create a clear picture for you of the two aforementioned destinies.

First with ” Written Destiny”:

You were born in USA, some country in Europe, Asia or Africa to a particular family. You had no option to chose your parents, family, color and race. I believe such things can be associated with ” Written Destiny”. Just keep it in your mind that I have mentioned the phrase – “no option.”

Now something about “Created Destiny”:

Once again let me take you to the case of my friend who fails in his semester examinations. I have mentioned before that he had all the time in the world to study, but being irresponsible towards his studies he fails. Which mean that – he had the option to study; yet he did not? Now can we say that it was a “Written Destiny” ?

So did you get my points, my friends? I am sure by now you must have got a clear picture of the message I am trying to convey.

Yes, that is what I realized sometimes back. I realized that even if there was something called as “Destiny(s)” in life, then at the minimum there are two types of “Destinies”. Instances in life where you do not have an option to make, that I call it as ” Written Destiny “. And instances where you have options to make I call it as “Created Destiny”, irrespective of the result of your instances. I have used the phrase “at the minimum here”, cause at the moment these are the two possibilities that life has whispered to me. If life has whispered to you some more possibilities I would be happy to be aware of them as well. So, please don’t hesitate to post it.

So whatever be the case my friend, whether you have been born in a poor family, handicapped or any major incident that occurred in your life where you had no choice or option to make or take, then accept it. For believe me, everything in life has a reason. Whatever God made you he had a reason to it. But the problem is that nobody ones to become themselves, the way God wanted them to become. Almost every body wants to become like somebody. And that is the point, and it indeed is a turning point, the deciding point, where you miss. Even if you look at the past, all rich men of today, at once instances started from ground zero. So many handicapped people have touched that zenith of life, where our so-called normal people have even failed to touch the feet of the peak these people have reached. For, instance take Bill Gates for example. So far since the past fifteen years he has been ranked as the richest man in the world. Look at the Google guys, they first hosted their server from a garage. All these people were not super rich from the day they were born. And now look where they have reached. Look at Helen Keller, she was a born-retard and a handicapped and you all must be well aware of what she made up of her life. Stephen Hawkins, he is called one of the most intelligent man in the whole world, and he is a handicap. I have heard John Milton wrote one of his most beautiful poems after he became blind. Beethoven composed one of his best symphonies after he became deaf. Phew!!! I guess that will be enough to quench your thirst and boost you up.

God has sent you in this world with an objective. Not just to go to school, get a degree, marry, procreate, grow up you children, perchance become grandparents and eventually die. There is something more to life. To realize this objective is one of the most important discovery towards realizing the “Essence of your Life”. It is all up to you. The choice is yours. And believe me when I say this to you, it is out of my own experience – “Seek and You’ll find.” And always remember the only person that can stop you is you. Rest all are excuses. God never does any kind of partiality. Each moment he is giving each and everyone of us infinite opportunities. Cause if God were to be partial, then he cannot be God. He is human. Only humans are partial and political. Helen Keller herself has told ” In life when one door of happiness closes, another one immediately opens. But often we get so lost and absorbed in our sorrows and problems, we fail to see the one which has opened ( which of course is futile ), cause when has worrying helped anybody? So, it’s up to you my friend, as to whether you just want to go on complaining and nagging about the things you got and the ones you didn’t get like a baby and remain like a baby your whole life. Or, now you say – “Enough of all these nonsense! If the only thing that can stop me is me, then at least I want stop myself. Rest I will face it, come what may.”

The choice is yours ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you so much for reading and to all those beautiful people who have posted your comments. It is because of those comments that makes me aware that am on the right track, and hence gives me the energy to move on forward to fulfill my motives and objectives. Any kind of criticism are welcome. Positive comments will make me aware that I am still on the right track, and negative criticism will make me aware when I have gone astray and will help me to come back to the mainstream.

Toluene is a common compound widely used in many industries as a solvent in paints, lacquers, glues and explosives. Household items such as nail polish, inks, glues, and stain removers all contain toluene. Toluene is also present in cigarette smoke and car exhaust but it occurs as a natural component of crude oil and can be extracted from a native Colombian balsam tree.

Toluene reacts readily with air and can be broken down to its component substances and compounds easily. However, when accidental spills of toluene occur on the ground, there is a huge possibility that it will leach into the soil and into the groundwater.

It is highly flammable, reacts easily with strong oxidizers and acids (nitric and sulfuric) and can cause damage to some forms of rubber, plastics, and coatings. When inhaled, ingested or come into contact with significant levels of toluene, the patient can experience dizziness, nausea, headache, stomach spasms when swallowed and itching and redness when it comes in contact with the skin.

What should you do when an accident happens in the workplace?

Even with strict safety policies in place, there is always that small possibility for the inevitable, an accident. It is very important that workers know what to do when an accident occurs. It must be an inherent concept of the company’s standard safety operating procedures that workers are given first aid seminar on toluene along with other hazardous chemicals.

When inhaled, patient must be moved to the open for fresh air or if there is a need for artificial respiration then by all means do so and call the doctor first thing. Do not induce vomiting when toluene is ingested and instead give the patient lots of water to drink. If the victim is throwing up, keep the head below hips to avoid aspiration into the lungs. For skin and eye contact, immediately flush affected area with plenty of water for 15 minutes. For all these instances, get medical attention right away.

What are the proper handling practices for toluene?

One of the first things you should do when handling toluene is to be properly fitted out with your personal protective equipment including protective goggles and gloves. A whole face mask is even recommended to avoid possible splashes.

As toluene is highly flammable although normally it is a stable compound, you should avoid the following conditions when handling toluene: sparks, electrostatic discharge, heat, open flames, and other ignition sources. It is also a confined space hazard, meaning that a leak in a closed area is very dangerous and there should be proper ventilation of your working space.

Never use or handle toluene along with incompatible materials unless absolutely necessary and when you do, make sure you carry out all the precautionary measures. Again, it cannot be helped but overemphasize the need for the workers to be properly trained at handling hazardous chemicals.

What should you do to ensure proper toluene storage conditions?

Toluene safety largely depends on how you store it. In ordinary circumstances, it is a fairly stable compound. However, when there are improper storage conditions there is a high risk for accidents. To decrease fire hazard, think about using an inert gas in the container or storage vessel for toluene.

Use only non-igniting ventilation systems, standard explosion-proof equipment, and safe electrical systems. Proper labeling of containers, chemicals and other items must also be practiced so that workers can easily identify the chemicals. Since toluene presents a confined space hazard, regular air monitoring should be in place to determine if there is proper ventilation.

Safety always comes first and employees must be empowered with the right knowledge and proper training to be able to deal with hazardous chemicals such as toluene with as few risks as possible.

I wear these all the time during my work. Can’t imagine not having them. They are comfortable on the face.

As if the fire alone wasn’t bad enough, you now have to deal with the effects of it. In addition to contacting your insurance company and a fire damage restoration company, you now have to clean up the mess the fire has left behind. It is best and more convenient to have a restoration company restore your home thoroughly, but if you didn’t have insurance or feel it would be better to clean it yourself, then here are some ways you can clean up the soot damage.

Soot is the ash-like, oily residue that is left behind after a fire, and it can be difficult to clean if you do not know what you are doing. Do not at any time rub soot into the material, especially when it is on cloth or some other textile. It might cause a stain that will be even harder to clean or will become permanent. All food that was left exposed during the fire should most definitely be thrown out. Before you start, make sure you wear clothes that can be thrown away or clothes that you don’t care to get dirty, gloves, and a face mask.

A vacuum will usually do the trick and remove the soot from your belongings. Make sure you do not use any of your vacuum’s brush attachments or other quirky accessories that might only embed the soot into the fibers more. The simple nozzle attachment will do the trick and should be held about 1/4″ from the surface to ensure that the nozzle doesn’t end up rubbing the soot into the material as well.

Clothes should be taken to a dry cleaning place that specializes in soot and fire restoration if they are loaded with soot. Otherwise, you can vacuum the soot off and then hand or machine wash the clothes until both the residue and the smoke odor are gone. Depending on how strong the odor is, you might need to wash the clothes more than once or even a few times.

Soot that is on your walls, plaster, wallpaper, or any exposed wood can be cleaned with a dry chemical sponge. Using this sponge will prevent the soot from permeating the surface and being transferred deep into the material. You will need a soot removal spray to clean the walls thoroughly. If re-painting the wall is necessary, then using a product like Winsol Cleansall will help prepare the wall for repainting. Other materials, such as glass, marble countertops, tile, steel, and vinyl are the easiest to clean because of their smooth, non-porous surfaces. Wiping these down with cloth towels or a sponge should be adequate in getting all of the soot out.

Sweet, tangy, juicy, delectable- there is no better way to describe the taste of ripe oranges. The rich taste of orange rightly accounts for its being one of the most famous fruits in the world. Loaded with vitamins, oranges are highly refreshing, especially during summers.

Vitamins in oranges help combat the onset of diseases and other harmful elements. Besides nutritional benefits, oranges are also excellent for oily skin. Sun dried orange peels applied as face mask soaks excess oils to leave behind a fresh-looking face.

The nutritional quotient of oranges has lots to offer. To begin with, oranges contain beta-carotene, an antioxidant, which guards the health of our cells. Oranges also contain folic acid required by the brain for its proper development. Oranges help in maintaining blood pressure as they contain a decent amount of magnesium. Besides, oranges also have high potassium content which help to keep the cardiovascular system in good shape. The food that we consume is converted into energy by thiamine found in oranges.

Orange juice can be made an integral part of your daily diet. However, eating whole oranges can be a little more beneficial on account of its fiber content. The calcium in oranges ensures that your teeth and bones remain healthy.

Besides the above-mentioned nutrients, oranges also contain carotenoids which help to reduce the effects of early aging. Vitamin B6 in oranges enhances the processing of protein and carbohydrates in food. Vitamin B6 also supports the production of hemoglobin that carries oxygen to all parts of the body. A glass of orange juice daily prevents the recurrence of kidney stones. Besides, having a whole orange or a cup of orange true fruit after meals can effectively check rising blood sugar levels. So enjoy the tangy taste of oranges everyday to keep your body in good health.

SAS 8615 N95 Particulate Respirator 120 Boxes (20 Resprirators Per Box), 2400 Masks

One of the biggest misconceptions around is that acne is simply a teenage issue and you will grow out of it. Nothing could be further from the truth. Acne has been a problem for teens as well as adults for ages. Now you can stop acne from ruining your skin and self esteem with easy and natural ways.

Your first step in getting rid of acne at any age is to experiment with different facial applications to see which ones work best for you. Here are some that work great.

  • With a cotton ball apply lemon juice, apple cider vinegar or white vinegar to your face to kill bacteria.ย  These natural remedies are also used in many home remedies as well.
  • Cook up some oatmeal and apply it to your face like a mask and let it sit on your skin for 15 minutes a day.
  • Use a dab of toothpaste on all of your pimples.ย  Toothpaste will kill bacteria and also seal off the area.ย  One word of caution however.ย  Don’t use toothpaste on your whole face as it will cause over drying.

Making some minor changes to your diet is another effective way to get rid of your acne for good. Eat more foods with lower levels of fat and oil. Cut way back on your processed sugars. Add a lot more whole grains to your meals. You can also use cucumbers as well as cucumber juice, radishes, wheat grass juice. Don’t forget to add in other foods that are naturally rich in vitamin C and E.

While changing your diet will help get rid of your acne in most cases, sometimes acne is an allergic reaction to something you have been using to clean your face with or a food you have been eating. If you are having an allergic reaction to something then the good news is that once you identify the allergen you will be free of acne for good. This is because you will have gotten rid of the cause instead of simply treating your symptoms.

To detect if your acne is from an allergy you will need to do a little bit of detective work. An easy way to track down the allergen is to keep a journal of everything you eat and everything you use to clean your face with. For faster results you can also keep a list in your journal of all your daily activities and your breakouts. Once you detect a pattern with your breakouts you can eliminate what is causing the breakouts and then see the results quickly.

The best way for you to get rid of your acne for good is to have patience, and persistence as you try the above solutions one by one. Because there is no miracle cure, you will have to find what works best for you through trial and error. If you start something new and you don’t see results from it, don’t give up. Simply try the next idea on your list. Through trial and error you will discover what is giving you acne and then be able to rid yourself of acne for good.

“All personalities are fake. According to the psychologist “Carl Jung”, “persona” which is the root word of personality means “the mask or facade presented to satisfy the demands of the situation or the environment and not representing the inner personality of the individual; the public personality.” So I see no sense in blabbing about myself… I think it’ll make much more sense if you get to know me personally and discover me… ๐Ÿ™‚

Home Remedies – 30 Useful Tips

Posted by vankd123 on May 12, 2009

I’m not someone that likes taking medicines for all kinds of different things. I don’t like using all kinds of harmful chemicals in my house, on my body, on my kids, on my dogs, or anywhere for that matter. I think the amount of waste and pollution in this country is something that we should all be ashamed of. It is also something that each of us can do something about.

Disposable products, single serving products, chemical sprays, fertilizers, weed killers, bug repellents, and so many more of today’s products are just so harmful. And they just keep coming out with more toxic products to spray everywhere and dump in our landfills. There are simpler and less toxic ways to most anything. So I have compiled a list of some things that can really help out around the house and yard.

Here are 30 useful remedies for everyday problems. Interesting tips on everything from bug killer to skin care- All using everyday products already in our homes, or easily available most anywhere. I’ve tried all of these tips, and they all passed the test. So I’m passing them along to you. Every mom should have a copy of this list. Every doctor should too.

Home Remedies for Everyday Problems

1. Repel Mosquitos –

Put some Antiseptic Mouthwash in a spray bottle and spray around your chair, your deck, your window frames, your door jams, etc… Even in the dog house. Mosquitoes don’t seem to like it. I’m not sure why it works, but it does.

2. Personal Mosquito Repellent –

Take a Dryer Sheet and rub it on yourself to Repel Mosquitoes. Stick the Dryer Sheet in a shirt or pants pocket for extra protection.

3. Eliminate Ear Mites –

All it takes is a few drops of Corn Oil in your pet’s ear…Massage it in, then clean with a cotton ball. Repeat daily for 3 days. The oil soothes the animal’s skin, smothers the mites, and accelerates healing.

4. Kill Fleas on your pet –

Dawn Dish Liquid does the trick. Add a few drops to your pet’s bath and shampoo the animal thoroughly. Rinse well to avoid irritating the skin. Wash the fleas down the drain.

5. Cure Dog Odor –

Next time your dog comes in from the rain, wipe it down with any Dryer Sheet, making your dog smell springtime fresh.

6. Facial Cleansing Mask

Give your face a generous coat of Elmer’s School Glue. Let it dry thoroughly. After the mask is completely dry, peel away blackheads, dead skin, and unwanted facial hair. Tones and refreshes skin.

7. Headache Relief –

Drinking two glasses of Gatorade can relieve headache pain almost immediately without the unpleasant side effects caused by traditional “pain relievers.”

8. Burn Relief –

Plain White Toothpaste makes an excellent salve for burns.

9. Jewelry Cleaner –

Plain White Tooth Paste and a soft bristled Tooth Brush will clean your jewelry to a bright shine.

10. Sunburn Relief –

Noxema Skin Cream makes a wonderfully soothing sunburn relief cream.

11. Relieve A Stuffy Nose –

Instead of a high-priced nasal spray filled with mysterious chemicals, try chewing on a couple of Altoids Peppermints. They’ll clear up your stuffed nose.

12. Relieve Achy Muscles –

Mix 1 Tablespoon of Horseradish in 1 cup of Olive Oil. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes, then apply it as massage oil, for instant relief for aching muscles.

13. Sore Throat Relief –

Just mix 1/4 cup of Vinegar with 1/4 cup of Honey and take 1 tablespoon six times a day. The vinegar kills the bacteria.

14. Cure a Urinary Tract Infection –

Just dissolve two Alka Seltzer tablets in a glass of water and drink it at the onset of the symptoms. Alka-Seltzer begins eliminating urinary tract infections almost instantly– even though the product has never been advertised for this use.

15. Remedy for Skin Blemishes –

Cover the blemish with a dab of Honey and place a Band-Aid over it. Honey kills the bacteria, keeps the skin sterile, and speeds healing. Works overnight.

16. Therapy for Toenail Fungus –

Get rid of toenail fungus by soaking your toes in Antiseptic Mouthwash. The powerful antiseptic leaves your toenails looking healthy again. The original brown works the best.

17. Easy Eyeglass Protection –

To prevent the screws in eyeglasses from loosening, apply a small drop of Nail Polish to the threads of the screws before tightening them.

18. Cleaning Spray/Bug Killer –

If menacing bees, wasps, hornets, or yellow jackets get in your home and you can’t find the insecticide, try a spray of Formula 409. It kills on contact.

19. Splinter Remover –

Just pour a drop of Elmer’s Glue-All over the splinter, let dry, and peel the dried glue off the skin. The splinter sticks to the dried glue.

20. Cure Boils –

Cover the boil with a Tomato Paste compress. The acids from the tomatoes soothe the pain and bring the boil to a head.

21. Cure Yeast Bumps –

Apply Miconazole Nitrate Cream (Monistat 7) to the area. Yeast bumps look similar to boils, but are caused by yeast in the blood stream. Oil of Oregano pills can be purchased at most any health food store and can help correct the internal problem.

22. Balm for Blisters –

To disinfect a broken blister, dab on a few drops of Antiseptic Mouthwash on it, the mouthwash is a powerful antiseptic.

23. To Heal Bruises –

Soak a Cotton Ball in White Vinegar and apply it to the bruise for 1 hour. The vinegar reduces the blueness and speeds up the healing process.

24. Soothe Arthritis Pain –

Mix 2 cups of Oat Meal and 1 cup of water in a bowl and heat in the microwave for 1 minute, let cool slightly, and apply the mixture to your hands for relief from arthritis pain.

25. Quiet a Child’s Cough at Night –

Apply a generous coat of Vic’s Vapor Rub to the child’s feet and cover with socks. It warms and the feet, stops the coughing, and soothes the child to sleep. Use instead of cough syrups containing harmful chemicals. This also works just as well on adults. It really helps you sleep.

26. Keep Harmful Bugs Out of the Garden and Flower Beds –

Planting Marigolds between your garden crops and in your flower beds will keep the “bad bugs” away by attracting the “beneficial bugs” , such as lady bugs, to your site. Lady Bugs and others in this family are extremely beneficial to any garden or flower bed. By creating a balanced ecosystem in your area, you reduce the need for pesticides and other toxins, there by helping us all.

27. To Kill Fungus on Plants –

Mix Antiseptic Mouthwash 50/50 with Distilled Water in a spray bottle and spray on your infected plant. The mouthwash acts as a fungicide and kills the fungus. I’ve even poured the mixture directly onto the soil around the plant to kill any fungus in the soil that may be attacking the plant. It works great.

28. Burn Relief –

Aloe is amazing for burns of any kind. Slice off a whole leaf (or more) of an Aloe Plant, peel the green outer cover away, and shave the clear inner cellulose into a bowl. Place into a blender or food processor with a small amount of distilled water (Aloe 80% – Water 20%) and blend into a smooth mixture. Apply to any burn. This mixture can be put into a squeeze bottle and kept in the refrigerator for quite a while. It works wonderfully.

29. Leather Treatment –

Indian Hemp hair and scalp treatment works wonders on dry stiff leather. Apply it just as you would any expensive leather treatment and rub it in. It softens and does a great job waterproofing and protecting your leather. Coconut Oil works quite well too. I’ve used them both for years on my leather.

30. Re-Usable Containers –

Now this is a no brainer. We all buy things like margarine, sour cream, yogurt, and other products that come in plastic containers with re-sealable lids. We use the product inside and throw the container away. Then while at the grocery store, we buy some of the “Newest Fad Items” like those disposable re-sealable containers. Intended to be used a few times then thrown away. With millions of cubic tons of trash (made up of mostly disposable products) going into our landfills everyday, this is a process that I can not understand. Instead buying such “Fad” products, I hope people will come to their senses and use what is already in their kitchens, and limit their useless waste.

All these Remedies are Tried and True. Try ’em out and see.

And please, everyone do your part in making the world a cleaner and better place. Avoid using toxic stuff everywhere. Use natural products any where you can. Make the most of the items you would normally waste. With a small effort on everyone’s part, we can make a huge difference in the world.

Lose Lose Lose – Did Tata’s Give Up Too Soon Part II

Posted by vankd123 on May 11, 2009
